Dear friends,
In order to do our part to help curb the spread of the novel corona virus, the leadership of our congregation is continuing to demonstrate sacrificial love for others (John 13:34) and respect for those who govern (Romans 13:1) in the following ways:
1) We are meeting in person for worship at 8 am and 10:45 am on Sundays, but also live-streaming the services on Facebook and posting them later on our website and YouTube for those uncomfortable being exposed to others. No reservation is necessary to attend in person since the size of our facility allows us to physically distance up to 70 people per service. However, those who attend are required to wear a mask, have their health checked at the door, and maintain physical distancing from those not from their household. We are maintaining a list of attendees so that we can inform those who have attended of any potential exposure to someone who later tests positive for Covid.
2) All other meetings are online, over the phone, or in small groups with masks and physical distancing.
3) Our staff is working from home when required to quarantine, but otherwise back in the office 8-1 Monday-Thursday,
4) Our Bible studies and midweek worships are live-streamed on Facebook and posted later this site and YouTube.
5) Little Pilgrims Preschool has been meeting in person this fall with smaller classes, indoor masking, strict sanitation and physical distancing to ensure the safety of our students and their teachers.
6) Our Elders and other leaders are making phone calls to check on and stay connected with all our members and friends during these weeks of social isolation. If you need our help, please don’t hesitate to call our office number, 325-5738 between 8 am – 1 pm Monday – Friday. Please remember, also, to make a point of staying in touch with one another, so that no one has to go through this alone and we can emerge from it as a stronger and more united community in Christ.
7) Many of you have been sending in your offerings through the mail or giving electronically, and we thank God for your support, as we must continue to pay fixed salary and building expenses without our regular income. If you are losing your income due to the crisis, we certainly understand, but if you are able to continue to support our congregation financially or even make a special gift we are truly grateful for your help in sustaining our ministries.
The COVID 19 situation is obviously changing on a daily basis, and we are unable to predict when it will be safe for us to gather again as God’s people in the same physical space. However, we remember that “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) We are spiritually connected in Christ even if we are physically separated by the current crisis. We will survive this and thrive again as generations of believers have done before us.
The Lord grant you peace and patience as you shelter in place!
